Go to the DM Artisan download page: http://users.dakab.com/default.htm to download the plugin for Sketchup. Once installed, you only need to launch DM Artisan as a separate model from your modeling tool of choice (See links below). It works best with Adobe Photoshop, GIMP, and the free version of SketchUp (Windows or Mac) but may work on some other platforms as well. Installation DM Artisan is a .zip file. Download and unzip the DM Artisan software package and this will create a DMArtisan directory on your computer. Copy the entire contents of this directory and paste it into your SketchUp's plugins directory. The sketchup model must be completely finished, otherwise you won't see the "Holefiller" option in DM Artisan.NOTE: The holefiller plugin works best if your model is already finished with an appropriate material such as plaster, marble, or ceramic tile (most textured materials work too). It will not work with non-textured sketches or models not finished to a high level of detail (i.e. a lower subdivision level). In this case, you can alter the format of your model to make it more photorealistic but you will not be able to create the interior materials. Close any SketchUp instances and restart them from scratch in order to make any changes.Once DM Artisan is installed, the plugin will appear in your "Model" menu in SketchUp. It does not have a separate icon so once you have added a model it will need to be selected in the Model menu. Selecting the model from the Model menu enables holefiller options in SketchUp which create a selection plane that surrounds any holes or cleanly cuts through solid models without visible seams. The plugin creates a selection that represents the model and material and automatically fills the interior (holes and cavities) of the model with a blendable texture. The exact method of combining photos with the SketchUp sketch is controlled by the settings in Sketchup's Preferences > Materials tab. The default parameters are suitable for most models but may not be ideal for some. If you wish to customize your model to have more realistic color, lighting, or materials you can use any program that has photo editing capabilities to manipulate photos for use in SketchUp. To do so you will need more than one photo of your model or more than one version of your photo if it has been edited with different effects.
